Bundesweit liegt die Stadt in Sachsen damit deutschlandweit an vierter Stelle. Dennoch sind die Quadratmeterpreise im Vergleich zu westdeutschen St\u00e4dten relativ niedrig. In einem Neubau kostete der Quadratmeter einer Eigentumswohnung (Stand: 30. 6. 2021) im Schnitt 5.017 Euro. Zum Vergleich: Im Jahr 2015 waren es noch 3.168 Euro pro Quadratmeter gewesen. Extrem war die Preisspirale bei Gr\u00fcnderzeith\u00e4usern. 322 Euro kostete 2015 der Quadratmeter. Die letzten seri\u00f6sen Zahlen sind von 2020, und da lag der Quadratmeterpreis bei 1.385 Euro.<br>Im Gegensatz zu den Wohnungspreisen verliert allerdings die Mietpreisentwicklung auf dem Leipziger Wohnungsmarkt weiter an Dynamik.
